This material introduces children to the concept of pi (π) and its role in calculating a circle’s circumference and area. By this stage, they have already measured the circumference, radius, and area of polygons. When working with circles, they will use 3.14 as an approximation of pi, the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. A manual is included to support presenting and explaining the Theorem of Pi.
